Lockdown’s done, SuperSolarSchool’s begun
Our first post-Covid SuperSolarSchool took place from 23 to 27 August 2021. The group was smaller than usual, only 7 people were able to attend on these dates, but as business slowly gets back to normal, so will the number of participants.
Our attendees were extremely understanding of the unavoidable postponements to the course caused by economic uncertainties as well as the pandemic, and were thrilled to finally be attending the training course they had, in some cases, booked several month before.
We had to cover the course content in record times to ensure we complied with Zim’s restrictions on working hours and to ensure we met curfew requirements, but all attendees commented favourably on how the course was conducted and rated the course material highly.
The highlight for the group was most definitely the practical aspects, particularly the installation of a complete solar system combined with the design of a solar system using concepts drilled in during the theoretical parts of the course.
“You could see that everything started to make sense for the participants in this moment,” said Dave Mathews, Head of GREEN Solar Academy Zimbabwe.
The option to attend SuperSolarSchool right here in Harare means it is no longer necessary for Zimbabwean solar entrepreneurs to travel to South Africa to take part in GREEN’s 5-star training.
Our next SSS in Harare is scheduled to run from 22 to 26 November . The cost is R12 500 for 5 days packed full of solar theory and practice taught to you by seasoned solar professionals, and the training is recognised internationally by both SAPVIA (South African Photovoltaic Industry Association) as suitable preparation for the PV GreenCard assessment, and by the German Solar Energy Society (DGS).
